ViewMedica On-Demand Accessibility

At ViewMedica, we’re committed to accessibility. It is our policy to ensure that everyone, including persons with disabilities, has full and equal access to patient education.

Accessibility Coordinator and Staff Training

ViewMedica’s Accessibility Coordinator oversees how we meet our accessibility objectives. The Accessibility Coordinator also distributes these objectives to all personnel who work with content including writers, editors, designers, and developers. Our On-Demand developers and content producers receive annual accessibility training.

Testing

ViewMedica has done automated testing and user testing to asses and improve the On-Demand player’s accessibility. On-Demand is compatible with most major Internet browsers, but may not perform well on older browsers.

Platforms tested:

  • Windows Browsers: Google Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Internet Explorer
  • Mac Browsers: Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari
  • Screen Readers: NVDA, JAWS, Microsoft Narrator, Mac VoiceOver

Compliance

Through genuine effort and commitment including testing, evaluations, consulting, and remediation, we believe the On-Demand player satisfies internationally-accepted accessibility guidelines for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and U.S. government’s Section 508 standards and most international standards for accessibility. ViewMedica On-Demand works to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA.

Exceptions

Adhering to accessible guidelines is our priority. However, there may be parts of the player that do not meet certain standards.

Continuing accessibility goals

We are working to achieve Level AA and Level AAA conformance to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, as practicable.
