Changing from the Old ViewMedica App to New VMcast App on Fire TV

The Fire TV’s new VMcast app has replaced the old “ViewMedica” app in the Fire TV app store. This guide will help you install, set up, and use the Amazon Fire TV's VMcast app.

Search for the VMcast App

The Amazon Fire TV search screen includes a software keyboard in the top left hand corner.

From the ‘Home’ screen, navigate to ‘Search’ in the menu on the left using your remote’s navigation buttons and hit the ‘Select’ button on your remote.

From the search page, use your remote to input ‘vmcast’ in the search box.

Important: You will need to type the whole word. Predictive search will not automatically pull our app’s name.

Once typed in, hit down on the navigation button on your remote to highlight ‘VMcast’. Hit the remote’s ‘Select’ button to choose the app.

Install the App

The download screen features text that describes the VMcast app and a download button to add the app to your homescreen.

Hit the remote’s ‘Select’ button again to open the VMcast app overview page.

Select ‘Download’ and wait for the app to download and install. This may take a few minutes depending on your wireless network speed.

Setup the App

The VMcast login page includes a software keypad to type in the Client ID and Stream Code.

Before you begin, be sure you have the following to ensure a smooth setup.

Client ID

Stream Code

These were emailed to you when you signed up for VMcast. If you do not have this information, you can login to your account and go to the VMcast “Manage Streams” link from the Dashboard to get this information.

After you have installed the app, Select ‘Open’ to launch the app. Follow the prompts on the screen to complete your setup.

Enter your Client ID number and select ‘Next’.

Enter your Stream Code. On the fourth digit, the app automatically loads your account information and goes to the VMcast app start screen. From here you can press up to go to the “Setting & More” menu. Or, you can run one of your available Loops (see the next step).

Run a VMcast Loop

On the VMcast start screen, you can select the default “All Videos” Loop or one of the Loops you created in your account.

How to Make a VMcast Loop

Press left and right on the remote pad to choose the Loop you want to broadcast. Then hit the remote’s ‘Select’ button. You will now see a list of options for this Loop. You can toggle the desired features by scrolling up/down and pressing the ‘Select’ button.

Ready to start your Loop? Highlight the ‘Play’ option and then press the remote’s ‘Select’ button. Your custom ad-free waiting room broadcast should now play and loop throughout the day!

During playback, press the ‘Select’ or ‘Play/Pause’ button to pause and play your Loop. You can also press the ‘Back’ button to return to the menu interface. The ‘Left/Right’ buttons will jump backward or forward videos in your Loop. We recommend stopping the Loop at night by hitting the ‘Back’ button and starting it again in the morning.s

Delete the Old ViewMedica App

The old ViewMedica app will still run your Loops, but it doesn’t have the better features found in the new VMcast app. Once you have the new app up and running, you can delete the old app from your Fire TV.
