You may have heard about recent changes to HIPAA Rules on the handling of Protected Health Information by healthcare websites. One rule specifically focuses on tracking internet IP addresses, device addresses, and email addresses (now considered PHI) of patients viewing health information on provider websites.

Feel safe in knowing that ViewMedica services do not use or store any PHI

We recently did a top-down review of ViewMedica’s technical systems to ensure no PHI is collected and recorded by us, or any of our third-party partners.

Other video streaming services may glean visitor data. Their ad-revenue-based business model forces them to track viewers on your website and create buyer profiles to target them with ads. ViewMedica is not an ad-based service and we do not track your viewers.

ViewMedica does not use any client-side state, such as cookies or localStorage, to collect usage metrics. We also don’t “fingerprint” individuals via their IP address, User Agent string, or any other data. IP and device addresses are not collected or stored.

With data privacy at the core of our mission, you won’t sacrifice your visitors’ privacy when using ViewMedica services.
